Thank you!!!
This blog is a little different today. It begins with a story. . .
Several years ago, a car pulled up in front of my house. A woman got out and went inside the house across the street. She was the new homeowner. Of course we were saddened when the previous owner left, but we were also excited to maybe have a family move in who might possibly have kids my kids' ages. We were in luck, they had kids who were the same ages as 3 of my sons. Even better, both of our families instantly bonded and our friendship grew and blossomed with this family. We had so many fun times and even shared several holidays together.
Now with all stories, there is always an issue. This one was no different. You see, they were a military family and were given orders to relocate. Keep in mind, I do have family who has served in the military of whom I am very proud, but I was not a military brat. This was the first time I had really been up close and seen what these families have to do. My admiration only grew. My respect for our service members has always been strong. How quickly this family set up the move, made the arrangements and moved with kids, school, jobs and their home was amazing, to say the least.
When I started my career in real estate, my goal was to help families. Moving is hard no matter who you are or how far you are moving. I set up my practice to try to make this a very easy process for all families. However watching my military friends going through their process and helping many other military families with the purchase and sale of their homes, I learned a lot. I also learned I wanted to do more, do better and to find new ways to make their lives a little easier, less complicated and offer more support.
With that leading me, I recently went after and obtained my Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification. I learned a lot and am excited to try to make more of a difference in our service members and their families lives! Even more so, I want to thank them for all they do for us and for giving us so much to be thankful for!
Finally, without mentioning names, all of my past military clients have taught me so much! I know moving is not easy, but you usually do it without complaint and selflessly. I admire your strength more than you will ever know. Thank you for being in my life! You have encouraged me to be even better!
