New to the Neighborhood - WOB (World of Beer)

I am a big fan of beers. I love exploring all the flavors, varieties, and types of beers. We are very fortunate in this area to have several great breweries, all in our backyard. There are obviously the old popular ones, like Silver City and Hales. Other ones that are more boutique and uprising, like Sound Brewery, Rainy Daze, Der Blokken, and Valholl breweries, which are absolutely amazing. Of course, we have new ones showing up quite frequently, like Bad Bulldogs Brewery in Bremerton. (Grand opening on March 3rd for all you beer enthusiasts who can't wait to check it out!)

I digress. I was talking about a new beer place, World of Beer! This place is amazing if you want to check out and sample some beers. They do carry several local beers, but they also bring in many others from all over the world. They have over 50 on tap and over 500 beers total! That is a LOT of beer. They also have a nice selection of ciders and other spirits for any non-drinking beer friends.

Although the beer is a big factor in why I recommend this place, there are others too. The staff, even when they first opened, were welcoming and knowledgeable. They offer food. I took my kids in for dinner one night (yes it is family friendly!) and the pretzel, which we ordered as an appetizer, was a HUGE hit! Most of the food is typical pub-type food. They also have several salads that are pretty good in case you're trying to eat a little lighter. Since I was out with my kids, we did have to splurge and have dessert. The Salted Caramel Cookie Skillet is so delicious!

Now back to beer. . . since you cannot possibly try all their beers, you may find that you really enjoyed a specific one. WOB fills growlers so you can take some home with you. If you forgot your growler, or didn't think you needed one but changed your mind, they do have "crowlers" (not quite sure that this is the right name), which are 32 oz cans that they can fill up and send home with you. They look pretty cool too.

WOB is located in the Kitsap Mall next to Moctezuma's. They are open 7 days a week, from 11 am until 12 am, except Friday and Saturday evenings, they are open until 2AM!!!
