WA Beers? Yes, Please!
I recently returned from Spain where I visited with some of our friends. We had a wonderful time, saw many amazing sites and enjoyed lots of interesting foods. However, what Spain didn't have was our wonderful beers. There is nothing I love more than a really great beer, well except for my family, friends and dogs. I love trying the different varieties! When I returned back to the states, I was pleased to find a new place had opened in downtown Bremerton and of course, it was opening night!
Downtown Bremerton was BUSY! It was so awesome seeing so many people getting out of the theaters, at the restaurants and just out enjoying themselves. Now back to "where to find great WA beers", Local Boys Tap Room, it is conveniently located at 519 4th Street, right in the heart of downtown.
The atmosphere was bright and welcoming. The owners were super friendly and knowledgeable. It is definitely not a dark bar. There is space for about 30 seats along the bar. Keep in mind this picture was taken on opening day so it was CROWDED! It did seem a little unfinished, a few minor finishing touches still to be completed, but overall it was really nice.
Now let's talk about the main reason we are all reading this. . . the BEER! This place has 40 Washington State beers on tap. We make pretty good beers here in WA, so all the ones I had were pretty tasty. If you want to continue the party, you can grab one of their growlers and take it home with you, so you can drink responsibly (which is always super important). They also have a nice refrigerator section in case there is something you want that they may not have on tap. For my cider and mead loving friends, yes, they have those too!
If you want to introduce someone to WA State beers, this is definitely the place I recommend. What I loved about this establishment, what I feel sets it apart from some other local
places is that they offer different sized glasses. Don't get me wrong, when you find a great beer you love a big glass of it and they have those. However, if you want to just try some new ones to see what is out there, they offer tasters if you just want to try a little glass or a pint sized if love two and can't decide which one.
There are several other nice establishments near there, such as Toro Lounge with their amazing Tapas and the Horse and Cow. One of the cool things about this taproom is that you can bring food in. So go pick up your favorite dish and stop by for a nice beer to drink with it!
