It time for FOOD, I mean the holidays!
We made it through the candy, now it is time for some REAL food. We have 2 big holidays approaching. If you are like me, you are already getting the Halloween decorations put away, doing some deep cleaning, and planning your Thanksgiving day dinner.
My husband usually takes care of the grocery shopping for our family and most of the cooking too. It was a deal we made when the kids began swimming. He needed to work and couldn't be sitting at the pool, so he agreed to take over the evening meals and I take the kids to the pool. That was a great deal for me! Ken is a much better cook than I for every day. I'd prefer to try to cook for dinner party or themed night menu. Fighting the crowds at the grocery store makes me cringe. Best thing ever, I get to teach baby swim lessons and work out while I wait for the kids. Win-Win!
Since I don't usually shop, going to the grocery stores on the rare occasion is more like going on a field trip to me. Fairly recently I was at a meeting and one of my co-workers was talking about this great new grocery store in East Bremerton. He described it by saying there were rows and rows of food and the shelves were high and packed. It just so happened, Ken was out of town that day and I needed to grab dinner.
Domini and I took off and went exploring. This store is pretty amazing. As promised, rows and rows of food. However, it wasn't like your typical grocery store. It also has large varieties and choices for Asian, Mexican, Indian foods and so much more! There are many specialty items that I have never seen in a regular store. The prices seemed good or at least reasonable, but keep in mind I don't shop a lot for food, so really can't compare for you. So if you haven't checked out Saar's yet, you really need to do so. It is located in the old Albertson's building on Wheaton Way.
