Beer and Pizza

One of the wonderful things about living in the PNW, is the access you have to some pretty amazing award-winning breweries! I happened to stumble (not quite literally) across Sound Brewery several years ago during one of Bremerton's BeerFests and instantly became a fan of their beers. We enjoyed spending manyy sunny days on their patio enjoying a beer and peanuts at their old tasting room on Bovela Lane.

In Spring of this year, Sound gave us the news that they were moving into the old building where Companas used to be in June. I am going to just put it out there. . . I wasn't a big fan of Companas. Coming from San Francisco, it really just didn't compare to all the amazing pizza we had access too.

As soon as Sound opened I had to go check it out. I knew their beers were going to be great, but I was also very excited to see what food they would offer and if it was any good! They have a very simple menu-pizza, salad and breadsticks. Easy choice, pizza it was! We ordered several pizzas because we had to have choices and try a bigger sample of their food than just one pizza. Plus the pizzas come in small and medium and our groups are usually bigger than that.

My choice was the Philly Popper Pizza. I like things a little spicy so the jalepeno's called my name. The pizza arrived fairly quickly. OMG! The crust was thin and baked perfectly. It was creamy and an excellent array of flavors. The Potato Bacon Pizza was amazing as well. The Sound Supreme has also been a favorite of our group. I honestly have to say, I think it is some of the best pizza in Kitsap County.

Great beer, great food. . .what more could there be? They now offer wine for my non-beer drinking friends and soda for the non-drinkers. And their service. . . we have had nothing but amazing service during our visits. The staff is friendly and fun. It was a little slower that evening when the picture above was taken, but the server (left side) hung out and played with my kids at the next table. We all thought that was really cool. I love that it is family friendly in the main seating area. The atmosphere is casual and inviting.

Recently I visited with a friend and they were offering Salmon Ravioli on a Specials Menu. I am not sure if they are testing to add new items, but I do have to say it was also fabulous and I am already wishing I could have it again. So whether you want to go for an adult night out or to take your family somewhere new, this is definitely a place to check out!
